Pilitas

Las Pilitas (Baptismal Font) is a sea-level rock formation that can be found on the south end of Old Vallarta's Los Muertos Beach, near the base of El Pulpito. This location was where the "El Caballito de Mar" sculpture (The Seahorse) had originally been located. After disappearing in a storm, a bigger replica was made by the artist and put on the Malecon. The original statue has since been recovered and now stands at Las Pilitas, too. A side street on Olas Altas (Old Vallarta) is named after this natural landmark.
